Agriculture and Economic Empowerment

Program Description
FID Uganda's Agriculture and Economic Empowerment Program supports sustainable farming and entrepreneurship to uplift vulnerable women, their households and communities.
At FID Uganda we initiate, support and promote sustainable community-based agricultural and economic opportunities aimed at improving livelihoods, enhancing household food security, increasing income generation among vulnerable women and youths.
Women, including young women and mothers who are responsible for providing for their families are the primary target group of FID Uganda's agriculture and economic empowerment trainings and livelihood activities.
We organize trainings in numeracy, entrepreneurship, and we facilitate the formation and management of savings and loan associations. In addition, FID Uganda offers active support, mentorship, and supervision of targeted community group members and their income-generating activities. We also facilitate the formation of savings and loan associations within communities.
These associations allow members to borrow money for everyday needs, such as purchasing school uniforms for children, or for livelihood support, such as starting a small business.
