Education and Learning

Program Description
FID Uganda believes that every child and youth has the fundamental right to safe and quality education. The Education and Learning Program at FID Uganda aims to contribute to the promotion of quality, equitable, affordable education and learning opportunities for children and youth in marginalized communities.
We are committed to improving access to quality education across Uganda, working to promote fairness and inclusion within the education sector. Our efforts specifically target the enhancement of literacy levels among both rural and urban poor populations, with special attention to children, youths, and women.
FID Uganda firmly believes that educating children is essential to ensuring a country's long-term development, prosperity, and independence. We also believe that an educated population will help bring about a more vibrant civil society, increase the numbers of people available to offer their skills, knowledge, and expertise to support the development of their communities.
Furthermore, we recognize the profound impact education has on women. Research shows that girls who complete primary and secondary education tend to have smaller families, better health outcomes, and significantly higher earning potential.
Our Objectives:
- Improve access and quality of early childhood, Primary, secondary and vocational education.
- Increase the enrolment and retention of pupils at both primary, secondary and vocational levels, especially girls and young women.
